Candle Care

  • Trim it.

Trim your wick! Regardless of the type of candle you have, you should always trim your wick down to 1/4” before lighting.

This will contain the flame and give your candle a nice, even burn, and will prevent excess soot and smoke from developing.

  • Light it.

Light your candle in a safe environment, away from the reach of children, pets, and flammable materials (e.g., curtains, decorations, clothing, etc.). Never leave your candle unattended, and burn for a maximum of 2 hours at a time.

If you are burning one of our sculpture candles, make sure to first place the candle on a non-porous and heat-proof surface, like a plate.

  • Flood it.

When you light your candle for the first time, make sure to keep it lit until the top layer of the candle has melted through to the edges.

This will help prevent your candle from tunneling.

  • Cool it.

To minimise damage (e.g., warping and discolouration) to your candle, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
