Candle Care

  • Trim it.

Trim your wick! Regardless of the type of candle you have (sculpture/jar), you should always trim your wick down to 1/4” before lighting it. Trim again every 2-3 hours (when you notice the wick beginning to curl).

This will give your candle a nice, even burn by containing the flame, and preventing excess soot and smoke from developing.

  • Light it.

Make sure you light your candle in a safe environment, away from the reach of children, pets, and materials that can catch fire (e.g. curtains, decorations, clothing). Never leave your candle unattended, and burn for a maximum of 2 hours at a time.

If you are burning one of our sculpture candles, make sure to first place the candle on a non-porous and heat-proof surface, like a plate.

  • Flood it.

When you light a candle for the very first time, make sure you keep it lit until the top layer of the candle has melted through to the edges.

This will help prevent your candle from tunneling.

  • Cool it.

To minimise damage to your candle, such as warping and discolouration, store your candle in a cool place, away from direct sunlight.
